Prompt 10/04/2011: Let the City Tell a Story

What You’ll Need:

4 slips of paper
Something to write with/on
A group if possible (but you can do this on your own, too. Read on!)
Somewhere that inspires you – we used New York City, specifically Washington Square Park and Bobst Library, but there are stories everywhere.

Use the stories that are happening all around you to create something of your own. First, you have six minutes to write one sentence on each of your four slips.

Now, if you’re doing this with a group, trade slips around so everyone has three slips, and none of them are their own. DON’T LOOK AT THE PAPERS YET!

If you’re working on your own, keep reading.

Look at your first paper (or click here). Use that to start your story. You have twenty minutes.

When you have ten minutes left, look at your second paper (or click here), and try to work this new sentence into your piece.

When you have five minutes left, look at your third paper (or click here)and try to end with that sentence.

This prompt is supposed to be difficult, but remember that it’s okay if you cheat…we won’t tell anyone.
